How to Post Photos Using the Google+ iPhone App

The Google+ iPhone app has made its way to the iTunes App Store and is making its way around the Web as early adopters take a look at the latest software Google has to offer. This app, not without its flaws, has a multitude of different ways to do several things. One of these is uploading photos. There are no less than four ways to upload a photo taken on your phone to Google+ using the app alone. Here are a some of them:

Classic Photo Gallery Selection
If you’re not a fan of the Google+ app’s way of navigating through your iPhone’s camera roll, you can choose to navigate through it yourself by following these steps:

  • Tap the Photos button on the app’s main page.
  • Tap the camera roll icon at the very top-right of the screen.
  • Select the photo you would like to upload to Google+.
  • Type in a thought to go along with the photo.
  • Select the circles or channels to which you would like to share the photo.
  • Select the location to which you would like to tag the photo. You can opt for no location to be shared as well.
  • Tap Post (blue button) on the top-right of the screen.

Google+ Preferred Method
Google+ has an interface all its own. You can upload multiple photos at once using the iPhone app, or stick to a one-at-a-time method using the built-in gallery interface. Here are the steps:

  • Tap the Photos button on the app’s main page.
  • Tap the section that says From your phone on the lower-right quadrant of the screen.
  • Tap the little circle under each photo you would like to share.
  • Hit the Share (blue) button on the upper-right of the screen.
  • Type in a thought to go along with the photo.
  • Select the circles or channels to which you would like to share the photo.
  • Select the location to which you would like to tag the photo. You can opt for no location to be shared as well.
  • Tap Post (blue) button on the top-right of the screen.

Capture a Photo with the App
If you haven’t taken the photo you’d like to share yet, you have the option of taking one within the app itself. All you need to do to accomplish this is follow these steps:

  • Tap the Photos button on the app’s main page.
  • Tap the little camera icon on the upper-right area of the screen next to the camera roll.
  • Take the photo.
  • Hit the Use (blue) button on the lower-right area of the screen.
  • Type in a thought to go along with the photo.
  • Select the circles or channels to which you would like to share the photo.
  • Select the location to which you would like to tag the photo. You can opt for no location to be shared as well.
  • Tap the Post (blue) button on the top-right of the screen.

While Posting a Status Update
You can add a photo to any status update very easily. This can be done both with a photo already on your camera roll or one you take live as you’re making the update. Here’s how:

  • Click Stream from the main page.
  • Click the pencil icon on the upper-right area of the screen to indicate you’d like to make a new update.
  • Make the update as you normally would, but tap either the camera or camera roll icon at the bottom of the screen.
  • Take or select your photo.
  • Tap the Post (blue) button on the top-right of the screen.
