AmazonBasics Executive Stylus Review
AmazonBasics is the house brand for Amazon, the world’s largest online retailer. Its products span a range of categories from home decor to electronics.
Recently, I picked up the AmazonBasics Executive Stylus for touchscreen devices to use with my 12.9-inch iPad Pro. At $5.99, it was a terrific deal when compared to the pricier Apple Pencil. It is also an excellent stylus for capacitive touchscreens.
The stylus over all is thin and lightweight. You would not notice it at all in a bag, but store it apart from any touchscreens as the edges and metallic clip could scratch them.
The tip of the stylus is a rubberized bubble that squishes under pressure. It provides a smooth writing experience and its squishiness makes painting and drawing feel more natural.
Not the Apple Pencil, but Good Enough for Most
You will not find any of the advanced features of Apple Pencil here. This is simply a stylus, and does not have pressure-sensitivity or any type of active tracking. If you’re a professional artist, or an avid hand writer, then the Apple Pencil could be worth the $100 investment. For everyone else, $5.99 is a fair price to pay for a stylus that works great at most other things.
The pen-style clip on the stylus is sturdy and it offers a range of great carrying options. You can tuck it in to a pen loop in your bag, secure it to your pocket, or even take advantage of the iPad’s magnetic edges to keep it from wandering off on the nightstand.
Over all, the AmazonBasics Executive Stylus is a great value. It has more durability that some cheaper all-plastic stylus options, and looks great at home or in a board room.
