How to Add Circles in Google+ for iPhone
The Google+ app for the iOS is out and so far it’s looking pretty good. The interface is basic and quick on the iPhone 4, and there seems to be a lot you can do with it to manage your online profile and keep up with your various circles. One thing the app gives you the ability to do is create new circles in which to sort your friends.
To start, you’ll need to enter the Circles area of the app from the main menu. This will take you to a list of everyone in your various circles by default. Along the top of the screen you’ll see the option to toggle back and forth between circles and friends. You’ll want to click Circles here to prevent any confusion. Once you’re in the Circles menu you’ll see all of your various circles along with tiny thumbnails indicating who has been sorted in to each one. From here, you can create a new circle by clicking the +O button on the upper right of the screen.
All you need to do at this point is name the circle and it’s added to the list. Customizing who goes in to each circle needs to be done through each individual’s profile.
The Google+ iPhone app allows you to easily scroll between circles as you’re viewing the various streams and creating “huddles” with friends. Circles is one of the essential core features of Google+, and it’s reassuring to know that they can be managed on the mobile platform in a way that suits the experience one expects on a smaller screen.
Using the Circles menu, you can easily access a group’s stream and photos by clicking on the circle and navigating using the People, Posts, and Photos buttons that appear on the bottom of the screen. Tapping on someone’s name will bring up their profile, which enables you to assign or reassign them to different circles.
